Dr. Leimkuhler specializes in the assessment of cognitive, emotional and behavioral problems that often pose diagnostic and treatment challenge for patients, family members and professionals. He is a licensed psychologist in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Prior to opening his private practice, he worked in the Behavioral Neurology Unit at Boston's Beth Israel Hospital (now the Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center) and held a teaching appointment at Harvard Medical School.

Personal Statement

I believe that an evaluation should provide in-depth understanding of the entire person. The assessment process is designed to clarify the diagnostic picture, which is the basis of effective treatment. But the ultimate purpose of the evaluation is to promote deeper self-understanding and self-acceptance, and empower each person to achieve his or her true potential.
